CHRIS WINTER MASTERCLASS FOR DIGITAL ROOKIES

3 November 2010 | Perth

The ABC Innovation Manager New Services, Chris Winter, will present a masterclass for organisations and artists interested in increasing their understanding of digital production and its outcomes. The masterclass will be held 10am-1pm on Wednesday 3 November 2010.

Chris has a long background in new media, digital TV, technology marketing and radio. His work has included projects to deploy ABC current and archive content on a number of platforms including off-deck mobile portals, Google Earth and Google Maps; and for its first two and a half years, managing ABC2. He has been a participant and mentor at various X|Media|Labs since 2003.

Chris will be speaking at the Creative Industries Think Tank v.2.0 on Wednesday 3 November 2010; Chris will speak about his experiences at X|Media|Lab and provide helpful advice to assist participants with developing a project to submit to XML Perth. The other speakers at Think Tank v.2.0 include Quickflix Founder and Executive Chairman Stephen Langsford, Murdoch University Head of Digital Media Tim Elleston, ABC Innovation Manager New Services Chris Winter and Principal Strategist at Thinq Digital Kristen Vang.

This masterclass provides information complementary to the Creative Industries Think Tank. It is principally aimed at established artists and people who work in the management of an arts or media organisation. Filmmakers with little-to-no knowledge of digital media will also benefit from attending this masterclass.

Chris will cover these topics during the masterclass:

  • How to remain relevant to Gen Y audiences who have grown up digital;
  • Creative opportunities to utilise content across digital platforms in addition to tv, film and venue based live performance/exhibition;
